Swearing-in Ceremony

On January 5, 2018, the Court of Common Pleas formally installed Fran Chardo as Dauphin County District Attorney.  The vacancy occurred when District Attorney Ed Marsico became Judge effective January 1.  By law, the judges had to choose a new District Attorney and determined that Fran Chardo should serve as District Attorney through 2019.  In the ceremonial courtroom, filled with Fran's family and friends, members of the bar, the law enforcement community, and many members of the public, Fran took the oath of office as District Attorney. Subsequent to that, the voters of Dauphin County elected Fran as District Attorney in 2019 and 2023.
